Truestar Nutrition (continued)

Step by Step

Our nutrition section has been designed with many features. At any time, you can choose to pick your own meal plans or be profiled/analyzed by our leading experts according to your current or previous medical condition.

If you choose to be profiled, our experts will recommend a specific diet for your condition. For example, if you have heart disease, Truestar’s Red Meat Free Diet will be recommended. This diet offers numerous healthy selections including chicken, turkey, eggs, fish, soy and more. Substitutions to red meat such as veggie hamburgers or meatless spaghetti and meat balls will be made to avoid feelings of deprivation. Red meat items such as steak, burgers, ribs, etc. will not be recommended for this condition.

Keep in mind that certain diets have been recommended for specific conditions for a reason. In the case of heart disease, research clearly demonstrates that a diet that is low in red meat is extremely beneficial to prevent and reverse heart disease.

When a diet is recommended for a specific disease process and is well supported by research and the medical community, it is best to keep indulgences (in this case red meat) to a minimum.

The 80/20 Rule
Food is one of the great loves of life. Most celebrations such as weddings, anniversaries, birthday parties and religious ceremonies incorporate a wide variety of foods to enhance the enjoyment of the event. At Truestar, we too have a great love of eating and encourage our members to relish all aspects of food including smell, sight and taste. Our site offers thousands of delicious and nutritious dishes, snacks and fast food items to tempt any palate. The meal plans on our site have been designed by leading doctors and nutritionists as a testament to the fact that healthy eating and delicious taste can be compatible.

With the fast and furious pace of today’s world, it is very difficult to eat well 100% of the time. You should expect that there will be times when you fall off the health wagon and indulge in a glass of wine, a big piece of chocolate cake or some french fries! Do not panic if this event occurs; simply follow The 80/20 Rule of eating. In other words, follow our healthy meal plans 80% of the time and treat yourself to the occasional indulgence (i.e. on weekends, vacation, parties, etc.) 20% of the time. By sticking to this ratio, you will be able to maintain your optimal body weight, feel energetic and vibrant and ward off future illness or disease.
